Licensed Mechanical Engineer (Per Project Role)
Bitarchitects is seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate must hold an active PE license in Mechanical Engineering in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia and have expertise in US mechanical codes, HVAC system design, plumbing, and permitting processes. This is a part time per project role.
Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems for various engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Develop and produce MEP drawings and design documents.
- Lead the development and review of mechanical designs, including HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systems.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, monitor progress, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, and other technical documents.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest mechanical engineering practices, technologies, and relevant local codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- PE (Professional Engineer) license in at least one of the following areas: Washington, D.C., Virginia, or Maryland.
- Licensed in all three states (Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland) is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of US mechanical codes, HVAC design, plumbing systems, and permitting regulations.
- Ability to review, evaluate, and correct plans.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment.
