TERRY BITAR, FOUNDER OF BITARCHITECTS, SHORTLISTED FOR AIADC 2026 BOARD CANDIDACY

Washington, DC – September 18, 2025 Bitarchitects is proud to announce that our founder and managing partner, Terry Bitar, has been shortlisted as one of ten distinguished candidates competing for four at-large seats on the 2026 Board of the American Institute of Architects | DC (AIADC).

Voting for the AIADC Board will take place between October 1 and October 30, 2025, with results to be announced later this year.

A Vision for the Profession

Terry’s candidacy reflects her belief that architects are not only designers of space but also cultural connectors, policy influencers, and champions of equity, sustainability, and community. Her vision aligns with AIADC’s mission to strengthen the role of architecture in shaping a better and more inclusive Washington, DC.

Leadership Beyond Bitarchitects

Beyond leading Bitarchitects, Terry brings extensive nonprofit and board-level experience, including:
• Lions Club International: Over five years of service spearheading philanthropic campaigns.
• Charity Donation Foundation (Lebanon & DC): Founder and President, guiding strategic planning and community-driven programs.
• Lebanon Tomorrow: Board member, advancing civic development and professional networking.
• ANC Involvement: Supporting neighborhood growth, innovation, and civic engagement.

These leadership roles have strengthened her expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and public policy engagement, making her uniquely positioned to contribute to AIADC’s priorities in government advocacy, community outreach, and professional development.

Commitment to AIADC’s Mission

If elected, Terry is committed to:
• Serving as a liaison to committees and representing AIADC in external engagements.
• Recruiting new corporate affiliates and sponsors.
• Supporting emerging professionals through mentoring and her international internship program.
