Vanterpool Addition & Remodel

Bitarchitects presents the Vanterpool Addition and Remodel, situated in the historic Northeast neighborhood of Washington D.C. This project encompasses the extensive renovation of a classic DC row house, which was transformed into two distinct units while preserving the traditional architectural character of the area.

The original structure consisted of a basement and two floors, which were fully renovated and repurposed to accommodate the client’s requirements. The basement was converted into a standalone unit, while an additional floor was added above the existing two floors to create a second independent living space.

Bitarchitects provided a comprehensive suite of architectural services, including design, planning, and execution. Serving as the project’s single point of contact, our team managed all facets of the renovation, including architectural, geotechnical, structural, and MEP engineering, ensuring seamless coordination and integration throughout the process.

A primary objective of the project was to harmonize the traditional aesthetics of DC row houses with contemporary design elements, while maintaining functionality and visual appeal. BitArchitects achieved this by incorporating modern features such as clean lines, open layouts, and innovative materials, while respecting the historical context of the neighborhood.

The Vanterpool Addition and Remodel stands as a testament to Bitarchitects’ dedication to excellence and innovation in architecture. By seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary architectural styles, the project enriches the fabric of the neighborhood while providing modern living spaces that cater to the needs of today’s homeowners.
