Architecture, the perfect blend of creativity and functionality, captivates aspiring young professionals. On Saturday, July 22nd, within the AIAS Grassroot conference at the National Press Club, Terry Bitar, architect and managing partner of Bitarchitects, was asked to lead the session. The event brought together a group of enthusiastic young architects, eager to explore the transition from academic studies to professional practice. The room was full, and the participants actively engaged and shared their thoughts throughout the event.

The session emphasized the importance of gaining practical experience alongside academic studies. Bitar encouraged young architects to embrace internships and entry-level positions to gain hands-on learning. Mentors’ guidance and a growth mindset were highlighted as crucial for success in the dynamic architecture field.

Bitar stressed the significance of putting clients first. Architects were reminded to actively listen and understand clients’ visions, collaborating to transform their dreams into tangible designs that exceed expectations.

The session highlighted the value of collaboration. Young architects were encouraged to work together, building trust and problem-solving skills. Flexibility was deemed essential, enabling architects to integrate their expertise with client wishes.

Young architects were inspired to explore their unique paths within architecture. Regardless of joining big companies or smaller studios, continuous learning and personal growth were emphasized.

In conclusion, the session served as a catalyst for young architects, guiding them from theory to practice. The future of architecture shines brightly as these aspiring professionals break barriers, shape the world, and create innovative designs.
